What to do when bored to the core

Scribbled by Pavit Laul

Apparently, MTNL servers suck big-time and I had been consistently having problems connecting to Google services and most other sites after every 15 days or so. This thing would continue for 2-3 days at a stretch and leave me seething with anger & frustration. This time, it happened the day before. I had some searching to do for the next edition of Bits 'n' Bytes and all my plans went down the drain. Surprisingly, Gtalk was working in the morning and I confronted the Yoda (read Adi) of our academy (read NSIT). The doctor diagnosed my connection with a disorder related to DNS (Domain Name System). The surgery? A simple procedure involving changing my network settings to suit OpenDNS. Voila! the connection was cured and I was back in business :)

Now one might think as to what I did in those two days of extreme boredom. I tried finishing off 'A Million Little Pieces' by James Frey, which I've been reading for the past week (gawd! That's too much for me for a single book). But, getting bored of all the profanities, I switched to a classic: 'Atlas Shrugged' by Ayn Rand. This sure is one not-a-one-week-book! After getting bored again, I tried my eyes on some movies but realised I'd exhausted my collection of flicks a week back :(
Last resort: Music, something which I never get bored of. Now while listening to Disturbed's new album Indestructible (good one!), I saw the small PS CS3 icon on the launcher dock.

What happened next was complete dumbness: I opened up a wallpaper, cropped the hell out of it, and wrote on it for one full hour (with a little tweak here & there). What did I write? Simple, whatever was going through my mind... which happened to be what was going through my ears... and with a little help from my iTunes library. The end result...

Now, I can't let an hour's worth of hardwork go wasted, can I? So, it has been decided that this piece of art will adorn the threads of several forums as my signature. Rejoice, forum admins :P

Moral of the story...

  1. MTNL servers suck!
  2. OpenDNS rocks!
  3. Adi is truly a Master
  4. Boredom can make you do weird things (especially if you're listening to metal)
  5. Never let your hardwork go wasted: Make others suffer as much as you did either by making them read a blog entry about it or making the result of your hardwork visible everywhere you go :D

PS: If you were bored after reading this post, kindly look at the title(way up there) and you shall find that you were aptly warned of the impending boredom.
